I’m Tessa Nicholson, Holistic Nutritionist, and I'm passionate about food, cooking and eating. I’m also a bit nerdy when it comes to the science of nutrition and human health.

I learned two things about health: fantastic health starts in the kitchen and diets don’t work. That includes the latest and greatest fad diet that promises you quick and lasting results. That’s why there’s always a new diet with a ‘sciency’ sounding name that promises to lead to perfect health.    

Just search the web on any health problem you are trying to solve and in a few clicks the answers are at your fingertips. Literally! 

Unfortunately there is a huge amount of misinformation circulating about many health products that are out there.  There is also plenty of misinformation about foods to eat and those to avoid that seemingly solve any health problem whether it’s weight gain, bloating, fatigue, insomnia, hot flashes, depression, anxiety the list goes on.

The information can be incredibly confusing, complicated, contradictory and worst of all misleading.

The missing piece is your own health journey.  Lasting change is more effective when we honour our own unique life experience. Recognizing and respecting the changes so we are able to adapt our lifestyle and food choices accordingly.

As a nutrition health expert, I know that optimal health goes way beyond food. Hormonal imbalances, inflammation, stress, insomnia and life changes can all contribute to changes in our health including weight gain in all the wrong places!  The solutions for lasting change aren’t complicated!

I think it’s safe to assume that you would like to feel energized throughout the day, have a good night’s sleep and feel comfortable in your own skin-no matter what age you are today.

My decision to pursue the study of Holistic Nutrition was born first and foremost out of my love of food. I eat with passion and enthusiasm! I never deprive myself. Honestly, it wasn’t always like that.  I had food fear for a very long time when I saw first hand, how food choices could destroy health. Over the years I have cultivated what I call food freedom, creating small daily habits that have made a huge difference to my physical, mental and emotional well being. As a post menopausal woman that's big!

 

I am a great believer in less is more and simplicity reigns supreme in my world.
