I have always been an enthusiastic eater! Growing up in the Greek Cypriot culture, it’s pretty much mandatory to eat with passion. Meal times were an event.
I grew up on what is now known as the Mediterranean diet. I am very grateful for that experience because I was headed down a very strange path when it came to my ideas about food and health.
There was a period in my life when my eating habits were influenced by the fast food culture. I had no idea what was happening to me. I had become so far removed from my body’s natural rhythms that I lost touch with my natural inclinations when it came to hunger and satiety. You can read more about my story here.

Unfortunately there is a huge amount of misinformation circulating about many health products that are out there. There is also plenty of misinformation about foods to eat and those to avoid that seemingly solve any health problem whether it’s weight gain, bloating, fatigue, insomnia, hot flashes, depression, anxiety the list goes on.
The information can be incredibly confusing, complicated, contradictory and more often than not, plain wrong. I can assure you that it doesn’t have to be that way and that’s where I come in.

My decision to pursue the study of Holistic Nutrition was born out of my love of food. Why did some foods make me feel fantastic and others not so much? I deeply wanted to understand how our daily food choices interacted with our health. How foods and nutrients work in the body to promote health and wellness. I wanted to understand the mechanisms at work.
The answers are much simpler than most of us have been led to believe.
I am now very fortunate to live in a part of Canada where fresh, local foods are abundant. I enjoy this abundance with great enthusiasm, I eat all types of whole food, simply prepared to allow the full value of the food’s nutrition to work its magic, to sustain and nourish me.
